Ka’ana Resort and Spa: A Luxury Boutique Resort in the Belizean Jungle
Traveling to Belize requires some time to be carved out of your trip dedicated solely to exploring Belize’s lush jungle landscapes. Though there are many cute rustic jungle lodges in Belize, why not do it all and stay nearby in style and comfort, too? Ka’ana is the perfect boutique resort to base yourself out of for all of your Belizean jungle adventures!
Ka’ana speaks to every type of traveler, from the free spirit roamer to the seasoned high-end luxury traveler. This boutique jungle resort is an oasis of style and offers its guests personalized service and truly modern amenities. Their location, nestled right on the doorstep of an ancient Mayan city, inspired the name “Ka’ana”, which means “heavenly place”. And that indeed, it is!
Read on for my honest review of Ka’ana Resort & Spa in San Ignacio, Belize, and what to expect if you choose this as your jungle honeymoon getaway spot!

Ka’ana Resort was named Belize’s first “Small Luxury Hotel of the World”
And the honor is very well deserved! This boutique resort set in gorgeous tropical gardens offers excellent service and amenities, and the sprawling grounds are so beautiful you’ll want to explore every nook and cranny!
Here are a few of my favorite amenities at the resort:
The pool area is refreshing, private and beautiful and open from 7 am to 7 pm, fully-serviced.
Ka’ana also has a two-acre organic garden and chicken coop right on the grounds, which provides its chefs with the freshest ingredients.
There is also an Adventure Desk where guests can book private tours around Belize. They offer everything from tranquil bird-watching to heart-pounding waterfall rappelling, so there’s something for every type of appetite for adventure.
The cuisine at La Ceiba Restaurant, Ka’ana’s onsite restaurant, is inspired by the many local farms in the area. La Ceiba Restaurant offers a charming farmhouse design and chef-curated menus that feature local and international cuisine with seasonal ingredients. We enjoyed all of our meals here, but the special chef-tasting menu was our favorite!
Ka’ana can also provide an al fresco dining experience if you’re looking to eat somewhere else, like at the pool or in your room. They make wonderful and tasty craft cocktails, too!
The Spa at Ka’ana Resort

Our Review of Ka’ana Resort & Spa, Belize
This resort is gorgeous, modern, and relaxing. Arriving here feels like you’ve found your own little piece of paradise tucked away into the beautiful Belizean jungle. And the best part – it is so close to so many things to do and see (ancient Mayan ruins, river adventures, waterfalls, local towns to explore, and even abutterfly garden).
The food and drinks are great, the staff are incredibly sweet, and Ka’ana feels like a truly relaxing place to come home to after a day of exploring Belize.
We highly recommend Ka’ana Resort and also its sister property, Itzana, for a perfect honeymoon (spend your time in Bwlize half in the jungle, half on the coast, seeing the best of Belize!)
