Buffalo Mountain Lodge is a truly lovely choice when you are looking to find accomodation in Banff, Alberta.
There are dozens of accommodation options around Banff, but none quite like Buffalo Mountain Lodge. This somewhat of a “hidden gem” resort is located on a hill above the town of Banff and is absolutely beautiful, teeming with delicious dining, a stellar outdoor hot tub, and is only a few minutes drive away from the town of Banff!

Why Buffalo Mountain Resort?
If you’re visiting Banff and looking for that cozy cabin experience, but want to stay close by to Banff Town itself, this is your perfect accommodation choice. The resort’s location is up on a hill above the town of Banff, and the views from the drive here are incredible. Here, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in that “cabin in the woods” feel, without having to stray far from the town of Banff at all. In fact, the resort even has a complimentary shuttle service to take you into Banff!
The food at the onsite restaurant here is fantastic, like all of CRMR’s properties. The rooms are beautiful, the outdoor hot tub complete with firepit is incredibly stunning, and the onsite cafe makes delicious coffee and snacks. You really can’t go wrong staying here, and the prices are affordable!

Note: You’re required to purchase a Park Pass to enter Banff National Park. This can be done at the Park Gates, or at the Information Centre in downtown Banff.
Inside the Cabins at Buffalo Mountain Lodge
Buffalo Mountain Lodge has 108 guest rooms that feature wood-burning fireplaces. Most of the rooms have balconies or patios, and all of the standard amenities you need during your trip. They also glady offer a limited number of pet friendly accommodations (additional charges apply). These rooms must be booked by calling the central reservations team at 1.800.661.1367.

Buffalo Open Studio
Buffalo Open Studio rooms have one queen murphy bed, upgraded bathroom with clawfoot tub and separate shower, a wood burning stone fireplace which is stocked daily with complimentary firewood and small kitchenette facilities including a microwave, stove top and fridge. This room also features an LCD television with a Blu-Ray player. This room is suitable for meetings of up to 12 people.

Premier Room

Outdoor Hot Tub and Fitness Center Amenities:
Buffalo Mountain Lodge really shines in this area! You’ll love indulging in the beautiful renovated wellness space, featuring a state-of-the-art steel outdoor hot tub that is located just steps from the main lodge. You can enjoy mountain views from ere during the day, and star gaze at night. The gorgeous hot tub is open year-round, and has a stunning fire pit next to it!
Buffalo Mountain Lodge also features a gym with plenty of fitness equipment, weights and a dry-sauna for guests to enjoy year round. Towels and change rooms are also available.
Dining at Buffalo Mountain Lodge
The food at the on-site Sleeping Buffalo Lounge is out of this world. The creative menu features plenty of local game meats, and the breakfast buffet and a la carte options are to die for. Our cocktails were amazing, as well as our desserts. You cannot go wrong eating here – some of the best food in Banff, by far!

- Photograph the famous Morant’s Curve: less than a 10 minute drive from Baker Creek!
- Go skiing, snowboarding, or tubing at Mount Norquay Ski Resort
